Forester Intern – Position filled

We are currently seeking a self-motivated forester with the ability to work in a collaborative environment to join our forest management team as a Forester Intern.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Forest Program Manager and as a member of a forest management team consisting of professional and technical specialists, you will be given the opportunity to learn about, and participate in, forest management planning, public consultation, compliance, GIS and silviculture.

The analytical skills you bring to the position will support your development as a forest modeller in both spatial and non-spatial simulation analysis.

As participation in public consultation processes will be a requirement of this position, we seek candidates with excellent communication skills who  can listen to and interact well with members of the public.

You will represent FRMG and our clients to the government, the public and other external organizations.

Qualifications

You have recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from a university of recognized standing, thereby allowing you to be licensed as a future professional forester in the province of Ontario.

Candidates scheduled to graduate in the spring of 2010 will be considered for this position.

You will demonstrate that you possess sufficient time management, data analysis and communication skills to assume this entry-level position.

The experience and achievements that you’ve attained to date will demonstrate that you are a goal-oriented individual who is willing to assume new challenges.

Note that this is a 12-month position with the potential to lead to permanent employment with First Resource Management Group Inc. and contribute towards your qualification as a Registered Professional Forester in Ontario.
