Our forestry team provides management services on over 7 million hectares of Crown forest in Ontario. We are currently accepting resumes from motivated individuals to join our team as a Silvicultural Forester/Technician tasked with coordinating and implementing forest renewal services for our clients. Working from either our New Liskeard or Kirkland Lake office, your responsibilities will include:

  • Annual silviculture planning, budgeting and reporting;
  • Development of silvicultural prescription recommendations;
  • Contract management and supervision; and
  • Silvicultural program implementation.

Qualities of an FRMG Team Member
Your strong inter-personal and communication skills will allow you to work effectively with our contractors, our clients, stakeholders and with government staff.

Your commitment to silviculture and enjoyment of working in the field will be apparent, however you will also understand the value of careful planning and solid project reporting. Your organizational skills and attention to detail will allow you to produce accurate information products and analyses for use by others in our forestry team. Finally, with the support of the forestry team, you will learn how to continuously refine your work approach and produce more cost-effective outcomes.

Qualifications for this Position
A college diploma or degree in forestry is considered optimal however a post-secondary graduate with work experience in an associated discipline will also be considered.
Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following forestry-related fields:

  • Silvicultural operations planning and implementation;
  • Forest management planning;
  • Forest harvesting and road construction operations;
  • GIS applications and/or remote sensing; and
  • A valid G driver’s licence.
