Since incorporation of the Timiskaming Forest in 1996, the SFL holder has managed to significantly reduce delivered wood costs to its member companies. Subsequent to the amalgamation of five former Crown management units, the SFL managers at First Resource Management Group Inc. (FRMG) reduced average haul distances for mills on the million hectare land base to less than 50 kilometers per cubic metre, representing a savings of $5.00 per cubic metre for members of this co-op.
